Camping Gear

You do not need any of the following items to go bicycle touring or even bikepacking.  The adage “go with what you have” will get you through your adventure until you can upgrade your gear.  Also, some of the cheaper options are better than the higher-priced alternatives.

 

Sleeping bag: Coleman – 4 lbs (1.8 kg).  The reason why I did not go out and buy a new lighter sleeping bag is because it is for tall people.  I am 6’3 (1.9 m) and finding something long enough is a problem.

Sleeping pad: I found some knock-off item on Amazon.  It will do for now.  Amazon has since delisted the item.  It has a foot pump built into it.
